Vancouver Island University

In 1989 Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina University-College) began offering university degree programs. The university region serves a population of 175,000, covering: Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, Qualicum, and Powell River. The main campus is in Nanaimo, with regional campuses in Duncan, Powell River and the Parksville/Qualicum area.
The university offers a wide range of basic education, academic/university transfer, vocational, career and academic programs.
FACILITY/SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS:
The Nanaimo Campus has a child care centre, an 189-unit student residence, 294-seat theatre, Japanese Garden and an art gallery. The Powell River Campus also has an art gallery and a exposition centre.
